Well hello! We are back to the world of blogging after a very busy April and May wedding season! We thought we would get back to Bon Bon by spreading the good word of Smitten Magazine. Now, it’s no secret that we love this e-glossy devoted to all things weddings. We love it even more so because it began it’s humble roots here in Charleston! Since it’s inception last July the creative gals behind this mag have produced such a gorgeous product. Their new issue, dubbed “The Color Issue” is out now!

We are especially excited about this one because “Tara’s Tips” create a lovely spread dedicated to highlighting small elements that ultimately create a large impact. Along with some beautiful photos from Liz Banfield, we think it’s a great article! Be sure to e-read it yourself today!

Today is very exciting day for our friend, Amy Atlas. Her new book, “Sweet Designs” hits the shelves today!

In the new book Amy shows her readers and fans how to create fabulous sweets tables for adults and kids, combining easy recipes, dressed-up store-bought treats, and craft ideas, to make dessert a fitting grand finale to any gathering.

Amy Atlas gained an international following when she introduced the concept of meshing baking and crafting to make beautiful sweets spreads. She has designed tables for Brooke Shields, Electrolux with Kelly Ripa, Gayle King, Martha Stewart Weddings, Mindy Weiss, and O Magazine.

Lowcountry Local First

Happy Wednesday y’all! Erin here sharing an amazing event with you!

As you may or may not know, we are big fans of the Lowcountry Local First movement here in Charleston! If you are unfamiliar with them, their idea is twofold. First they advocate buying local from independent businesses and farmers. Then they promote eating local as well. This initiative designed to grow and support local food systems by connecting local farms, producers, and apprentices to the local restaurants, institutions, and people with a hunger for farm fresh food and goods.

Super cause, right?

They have several events throughout the year but this Sunday is their 5th annual “Cooking With Gas” Potluck Supper at Middleton Plantation. Tons of fabulous restaurants are participating and the chef list is pretty impressive. (Shameless plug that my husband is also participating). If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, we highly suggest!! What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Since today is Friday the 13th and supposedly an unlucky day, we thought we might end the week with something positive! A photographer takes a zillion pictures during a wedding, but sometimes it only takes one to capture the entire feeling of an event. This one captures every fun moment that happened during this day! The Wedding Row!

The Wedding Row sure did a good job of starting our week off with a bang! This amazing blog dedicated to all things Charleston and Wedding featured Ellen and Alex’s nuptials yesterday. Their sunny wedding reception was held over the marsh at Lowndes Grove Plantation.

Good Friday gets even better when we get big news from Harry Winston! As you may remember, our bride-to-be, Laura, has an amazing and fabulous job with Harry Winston. Nashville Bound!

Happy Wednesday y’all! Erin here with some very exciting news for anyone in and around the Nashville area. Tara and Kate will be taking a little trip to Nashville next Monday and Tuesday to visit our good friends at The Dotted Line. We love this unique stationary boutique (and love them even more because they carry the Lettered Olive retail line!)

On Monday Tara will be signing books and answering any questions for brides and event planners/designers about how they can use the Lettered Olive!

Then on Tuesday both Tara and Kate will be accepting appointments for any new brides-to-be who would like to meet Tara and discuss their wedding plans!
