Company branding, packaging, and presentation is always a source of inspiration for us in both designing events and working with those specific companies… I wanted to share some things I’ve seen and loved lately!

This is Squire Fox’s new logo for his wedding photography venture… We already love his work, but love the new super stylish look to match!

I recently bought a pair of Toms shoes, and their entire website and company mission is inspiring!

A local Charleston Chocolatier, John Battles with Sweetteeth, has some completely unexpected flavors (like Chipotle and Lime, and Jalapeno Pineapple White Chocolate), but the packaging is so cute you want try them!

One of other favorite photographers, Adrienne Page, has ventured into the custom photo album world with her company, Velvet Raptor.  These are so amazing and luxurious, you will have no problem displaying them anywhere in your home!

Not only do they have fabulous packaging, they have an entire section devoted to wedding and special event cocktail tips on their website.

Weddings in the Outside World

We all know the power the media has, so it’s great to see when the wedding topic branches outside of bridal media into mainstream world.. like this recent article on The Huffington Post.

Tara’s Tidbits

Since Bloody Mary’s are one of my favorite daytime cocktails to enjoy, I would like to consider myself an expert at them!  I have to admit that I find my recipe to be the best, so I’m happy to share it!

Tara Guerard’s Bloody Mary Recipe

1.5 oz. premium vodka
6 oz. tomato juice
1 tablespoon prepared Horseradish
Dash Worcestershire
Dash of Tabasco sauce
Dash Lemon juice (preferably fresh squeezed)
Dash Celery salt
Fresh cracked black pepper – to taste
One Teaspoon fresh chopped Dill
Garnish with pickled okra or pepperocini and enjoy!

While we’re talking about booze… I love this recent article from Food and Wine Magazine… I’ve often talked about the “members only” sale websites that focus mostly on designer fashions, luxurious trips, and beautiful home goods, but here are some devoted to the grapes!

So, we just returned from a successful trip to New York, both with clients and at the New York Weddings Magazine bridal event. We represented The Lettered Olive and Tara was there signing copies of her book, Weddings by Tara Guerard.  There were some fabulous vendors we met there (including Mark Ingram as we were setting up, who is so handsome and sweet, and ironically his mother is from Charleston, SC!).

There was a fantastic resource for grooms/groomsmen right across the way from us called Alton Lane.. They do custom clothing for men, and had some really beautiful stuff!

The trend in dresses up there seemed to represent a lot of volume and embellishments.

The beading on this veil was unlike anything I’ve seen before, this was a very special piece!

nyflowermarket

I got to run down to the flower market to get some blooms for our office, and just loved all of the colors and varieties out right now, it was perfect weather, and this scenery just made me happy!

Tara and I did some shopping for upcoming events at M &J Trimming, and loved their nailhead art!

After a long day at the show (and getting up at 5am), we were too tired to do too much, so went to a sushi spot near our hotel.  Turns out it was one of the top sushi restaurants in the city… I got the Gari Tuna- Tuna 12 ways!!!

Tara did the Chef’s tasting special, all based on what was the freshest available that evening…

Anne Chertoff, Editor in Chief of AisleDash, also stopped by our booth, and captured this video with Tara.

Tara’s Tidbits

We are off to New York this week for a book siging and Lettered Olive booth at the NY Weddings Magazine bridal show, as well as catching up with some clients up there… Can’t wait to report back.  While on my last trip there checking out Kelly Wearstetler’s shop in Bergdorf’s I spotted this dress which I LOVE… it’s just another reminder for bride’s how fun it is to be a bride all weekend- this would be a perfect friday night dress.

Website Obsessions

Just wanted to share a couple of sites that we are loving lately:

www.1stdibs.com- we especially like the Vermillion Gallery spot

www.walnutwallpaper.com

www.aisledash.com

Also, recently member only site Gilt Group has been featuring sales that provide great bridal options- today they had Reem Acra and recent other ones include Thread Social and Lela Rose.

You can then hop over to their travel sale site – Jetsetter and book your honeymoon!
