She Wore Flowers In Her Hair…

Our lovely bride, Lainey whose Spring Island wedding was featured in our first Southern Weddings book, had a stunning photo in the current issue of Town and Country Weddings.  She was so fashion forward, as her wedding took place four years ago before hair adornments became all the rage!

Tara’s Tidbits

I love a great bargain, and often times that means scouring a local antique market that always has hidden treats.  On one of my last trips there, I uncovered a vintage Japanese wedding kimono, and thought how perfectly appropriate that would be for our office. I had it framed and it’s in the process of being mounted on the wall, and the colors with the orange and golds really bring out all of the new tones we are using for the new office decor…

Just like we have our Charleston Weddings magazine and New York Weddings magazines, we’ve recently been loving another wedding magazine, that is a great resource for brides in and around Atlanta, Ga...

And, we love being able to step out of the wedding world for just a bit and focus on any kind of party, so we were able to share some tips with Rachel Ray.

Lights, Camera, Action

Of course I’m happy to recap some of my favorite fashion from the Golden Globe awards last night (for a complete list of all of the winners, click here). Congrats to the cast of Glee who won for best

One of my number one favorites was Kate Hudson… i thought her dress could easily transition to a super fab wedding dress:

Maggie Gyllenhaal was also amazing, and again totally would love to see this as a wedding dress…

Chloe Sevigny’s always fashion forward style, would be a dress I would wear if I totally had to do it all over again- it’s so light and airy, and love the soft subtle color. Plus, it’s Valentino!

And Anna Paquin’s dress would make for a knock out Friday night dress, no?

Tara’s Tidbits

seven-mile-beach

I just returned from my first much needed family vacation with my husband and two young boys, where we spent a week in Grand Cayman Island at the Caribbean Club- which is a condominium hotel.  I won this hotel stay while at the Engage ’09 wedding summit that took place at the Ritz Carlton on Grand Cayman, and the new non stop flight on American Airlines from Charleston to Miami, makes it a breeze getting there.  So amazing, what a breathtaking location- right on Seven Mile Beach!  This would be such a perfect spot for a wedding- anytime of year, it’s January and we had such beautiful weather. For more information on weddings at the Club, click here.

Early Registration

Since many brides became engaged over the holidays, registering is one of the early items on the “to do” list… Kelly Wearstler has designed a line of fine china for Pickard (also available through Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman)… This is one of my favorite patterns- called the Pickfair! Charlotte Moss also has a line for them.

Kate passed along her Julia Child, “My Life in France” novel, and have been so insipired by reading it that my New Year’s resolution is to go to Paris and do a one month intensive course at Le Cordon Bleu.

A Branding Facelift

I can’t share everything with you yet, but in addition to freshing up our office space, we are also rebranding all of our materials, and releasing a new website (will share when it’s live)… But, here is a sneak peak of our new logo…

Soiree_Logo_FINAL DIY Tip- Guest Books

Liz Banfield shared an old photo with me recently that is just so lovely… We’re always trying to find a way to come up with new ways to do guest books at our weddings that are fresh and modern, yet still something you’ll keep forever. For this wedding we affixed mini envelopes from Paper Source and had matching little cards that guests could write wishes on and then slip in the envlope for a little more privacy…
